Got married, moved to North Carolina

Post by CatharzGodfoot »

I haven't been posting much lately, and that's why. I'm still a bit dazed, but it's been pretty awesome so far.

Good for you, Catharz.

How's married life treating you?

If you are interested, North Carolina has some fun groups such as the North Carolina Comic Coffee Clatch and such that do great meetups and talk on webcomics and publish and such.

Congratz on marriage! Condolences on Carolina! :P

Just kidding about N.C. I've only been there a handful of times, but it was beautiful. :)

Chances are good that I will be in NC in November. What part are you in?

It's good. We had been together for over seven years, so there's not a huge difference. None the less, it's very satisfying to no longer write "single" on lease applications and to be able to call my [ex-?] girlfriend my wife.

Good to know.

I drove from Minnesota, and my first stop in NC was Asheville. Asheville, to my great surprise, was the most hippie town I've ever been in--and I was born in Berkeley, CA and went to school in Olympia, WA. There was seriously a street musician count of about 1 per block, a dreadlock per capita hovering at around .3, at least 5 coffee shops, and as many art galleries.
And yeah, it's pretty, although the heat + humidity has been brutal the past few days.

I'm in Durham: my wife just signed on as a grad student as Duke medical school.

Yeah, they throw a massive outdoor psychedelic electronic event out there every year.

Speaking of which, now I have a reason to go! :)
